The Resuscitation Crisis Manual (The RCM) is a cognitive aid and diagnostic support tool.
It is not a substitute for good clinical training, experience, medical knowledge, clinical acumen or regular crisis management rehearsal, including simulation.
The information presented here is by no means comprehensive. At no time should it replace good clinical judgement – it is designed to provide supportive information and diagnostic suggestions if required. If you are successfully managing a resuscitation crisis or clinical scenario, then do not change your management if it differs from The RCM. The RCM provides one definite option, but not all.
